Rheumatoid arthritis

  • In 2002 Advances in Therapy published a pilot study in which 43 patients with rheumatoid arthritis who consumed 1 gram of cod liver oil daily for 3 months saw decreases in morning stiffness (52%) painful joints (42%) swollen joints (40%) and pain intensity (67%). MS

  • In 2015 Multiple Sclerosis published a retrospective study based on 953 MS patients and 1717 controls which found that the use of cod liver oil during adolescence was associated with a lower incidence of MS – likely due to the vitamin D3 supplied by cod liver oil (low vitamin D is a risk factor for MS).
